An important part of the steering mechanism, the tie rod end is linkage that connects the inner and outer tie rods to the steering knuckle. To prolong the life of the tie rod end, it is wise to grease the tie rod during oil and filter changes. Dry tie rods will quickly wear and can come apart when worn, thus preventing the steering ability of your vehicle. Two tie rod ends are needed per vehicle.
